A torpedo weapon retrieval ship needs her deck crane to handle vehicles it was never fitted for. The part is designed at sea, manufactured ashore, and back aboard without the ship leaving station.

USS Shuba is operating in contested waters. The mission requires her crane to work with an unmanned underwater vehicle and an unmanned aerial vehicle. The crane was not built for either.
Rather than return to port, the crew designs a crane adapter aboard, against the real crane interface.
The design and a digital work instruction go to a nearby on-shore base, which manufactures the part.
The ship collects the finished part and the vehicles, fits the adapter, and continues the mission.
